What Is Normal (for the millionth time)

Ugh, do we still have to keep talking about how much sex is normal?

But because this popped up on CNN the other day, yep, I guess we still have to keep talking about it.

Spoiler alert: having sex with your partner is normal. Having it a billion times a week is not.

Nor will having it a ton make you any happier.

A recent study found that, although married people or people in committed relationships who had more sex tended to report feeling happier, the benefit leveled off at a sexual frequency of once a week. Those who said they did the deed four or more times a week did not report feeling any happier than those who had trysts only weekly.

Wow, I'm so glad we got that out there, I'm sure you were all busy thinking, "Wow, I've only had sex 1x/2x/3x this week, I don't think that's enough!" Because if you have kids/go to school/work/live in this world, however many times you're having sex is enough.

The important point is to remember that having sex is normal and healthy. Talk to your partner if you feel something lacking. Sex maybe isn't always the answer. Maybe talking more at dinner is. Maybe turning the t.v. and the phones are. Maybe holding hands more is.

Healthy sex is just you and your partner connecting. So stop counting and keeping score and I guarantee your relationship will thank you for it.
